It’s true. My house is a sh*thole.
There’s baskets of laundry that need packing away. There’s toys all over the floor. Dishes on the side. More laundry to be washed.
But… I don’t care.

That’s right. My house is a sh*thole and I do not care.
There is all the time in the world for me to clean and tidy. When TinyHuman is asleep pr quiet, I can clean and tidy until my heart is content.
But I will never get these moments with my son back.
He will never be this young again, everyday he learns something new and grows up right in front of my eyes. I’m not going to waste his life frantically cleaning up around him and worrying about the mess.
When he goes to sleep tonight I will pack away the laundry, pick up the toys, clean the dishes and continue tackling laundry mountain. Then tomorrow morning, we will do it all over again. The house will be a sh*thole, all over again and I still wont care.
If you visit my house and see that it is a mess, look past it. Don’t see a sh*t Mum. Look further and see beyond the chaos and look at the love that created it.
I’ll never be one of those Mums who has a house that looks like a show home. But you know what I will be?
I’ll be a Mum who cherishes the memories of days like today. I’ll cherish the memories of the days when I looked at Mount Laundry, said “f*ck it!” and decided that we would play a fun game instead!

He wont remember…
TinyHuman is too young to remember days like today. He wont remember the first time I made him laugh or that he always smiles when I sing to him.
So, he also wont remember that I didn’t do the dishes or that I didn’t pack the laundry away into drawers.
What is important is that he’ll always remember that nothing was a higher priority than spending time with him. He’ll see photos and videos of us playing together. He’ll feel that warmth of comfort when I hold him tight. He’ll know and remember that he is loved.
